Maddy Walsh & The Blindspots w/ Dirty Mae

Fri, Dec 8 - 9:30 pm

Ithaca's own Maddy Walsh & The Blind Spots will perform a fiery late-night show at The Range with special guests Dirty Mae!

Tenured, original, six-piece "Moxy Rock" band (their own punchy brand of danceable indie pop-rock), steered by the soaring vocals of magnetic songstress and force of nature Maddy Walsh. The band is known for its sparkly aesthetic, from Walsh's signature sequins and white go-go boots to The Blind Spots' Thrift Shop, a big rack of wild re-purposed clothing with the band's logo printed on to their collection of music videos created to accompany songs on all four studio albums. Expect big LOVE, dance grooves, bold electric guitar, political awareness, reckless abandon, and throw-your-arms-up JOY.

One editor described their hard-to-pin-down sound as "New Orleans Ghost Folk." Emmy-nominated composer, Michael Whalen said "it's like listening to two characters from a Faulkner novel making music today." Our Northern contingency calls it "indie folk," while our Southern friends say "just call it Americana!" Whatever you call it, it is an unforgettable sound of old and new worlds, that will keep you swinging all night long.
